2020 Jaguar F-TYPE compared to the 2020 Audi R8

The 2020 Audi R8 comes in a two-seat convertible or sport coupe. The R8 offers standard 19-inch wheels, automatic high beams, LED exterior lighting, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive dampers, and an automatic rear spoiler. With the 2020 Audi R8 Performance model, you’ll get 20-inch wheels, summer performance tires, a fixed carbon-fiber rear wing, sport suspension, sport exhaust, LED and laser lights, and non-adjustable racing-style seats.

The 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE blends an ideal balance of unrivaled performance, luxury, and innovation. There are several trim levels available for the 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE: The Coupe, Checkered Flag, R Dynamic, R, and the SVR. You can make any of these trims a convertible, which adds $3,100 to the base price.

LED daytime running lights are standard. The front bumper differs slightly between trim levels. The Checkered Flag trim adds a bit of style to the front end. The SVR trim has a carbon fiber front lip. Added hood ventilation assists with heat extraction. Power-folding side mirrors come standard with integrated turn signals. The Checkered Flag levels and up offer heated side mirrors, as well.

18″ 10-spoke alloy wheels are standard, the Checkered Flag trim level gives you 20″ wheels. There are several other wheel options available.
The door handles are flush with the side of the F-TYPE. When you push the unlock button, the door handles pop out.

A speed-sensitive rear spoiler is standard across all trim levels except the SVR level, where you’ll get a fixed carbon-fiber rear spoiler.

2020 Audi R8 vs 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE Power Options

The base Audi R8 comes standard with a 5.2-liter V10 engine with all-wheel-drive. The R8 Performance trim has the same engine, tweaked to bring the horsepower from 562 to 612. The entire 2020 Audi R8 lineup has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With the Performance model, you can choose to upgrade to a variable-ratio steering system.

The limited-edition 2020 Audi R8 Decennium trim has a V10 engine, unique badging, additional carbon-fiber trim details, and copper-colored stitching on the seats and interior.

There are three engine options with the 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE. Choose from a 2-liter turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder, which comes standard with the base trim and the Checkered Flag trim level. This engine puts out 296 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine will take you from zero to 60 mph in about 5.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 155 mph. EPA-estimated gas mileage is 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. With this engine, you’ll get rear-wheel-drive control.

The 3-liter supercharged V6 is also available on the base trim and the Checkered Flag trim. This engine puts out 380 horsepower with 339 lb-ft of torque. You can choose all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine can reach an exhilarating top speed of 171 mph. You’ll go from zero to 60 in 5.1 seconds with the rear-wheel-drive version and 4.8 seconds with the all-wheel-drive version. EPA-estimated gas mileage is 19 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway.

The 5-liter supercharged V8 puts out 550 horsepower with 502 lb-ft of torque. The SVR trim level offers 575 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available only with the all-wheel-drive system. The R trim level will take you from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. At the SVR level, you’ll go zero to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. The top speed for this 5-liter supercharged V8 is 186 mph with the R trim and 200 mph with the SVR trim. EPA-estimated gas mileage is the same for both trim levels, with city driving at 16 mpg and highway driving at 24 mpg.

An open differential with torque vectoring allows each wheel to rotate at different speeds, as opposed to a locked differential. The adapted suspension system comes with the V6 and up. The 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE rides low to the ground, which many drivers prefer with a high-powered vehicle such as this.

2020 Audi R8 vs 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE Interior and Technology

With the Audi R8, you’ll get standard Audi Connect remote telematics and control with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Every trim level has a wireless charging pad with a built-in signal booster, two USB ports, a navigation system, and a 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Satellite radio is also standard.

The 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE offers standard 12-way power-adjustable seats with memory settings finished in a leather and suede combination. However, full leather finishes, heated and ventilated seats are also available. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped and power-adjustable with paddle shifters mounted behind it.

Nappa leather upholstery and heated sport seats are standard with the 2020 Audi R8. You’ll also get a 12.3-inch screen mounted in the driver’s line of sight.

Driving modes located left of the shifter are available via a toggle shift. This helps drivers manage their driving terrain in rain, ice, and snow. You can also choose the dynamic mode for enjoyable driving during nice weather.

A digital display mounted between the tachometer and speedometer shows the speed limit of any given road as well as the gas gauge and speed indicator. The cargo capacity is 7.3 cubic feet with the convertible and 14.4 cubic feet with the coupe. The R8 coupe has 8 cubic feet of cargo space.

Unique to the Jaguar F-TYPE is the option to add a leather headliner. Climate control center vents pop out of the top of the dashboard above the navigation system upon starting the vehicle.

Two USB ports are located within the center armrest. A 10-inch color touchscreen display with factory navigation, Apple CarPlay®, and Android™ Auto come standard across all trim levels.
